Summertime Events

Attention local small boaters:  There are many exciting events coming up that you wont want to miss:

July 4-7 is the annual Lake Union Wooden Boat Festival at the Center for Wooden Boats in Seattle.  Lots to see and do, including free boat rides.

The annual Sucia State Park Small Boat Rendezvous is rapidly approaching. My son and I will be there of course.  We look forward to this event all year!  Join us if you can.  Sucia Island is one of the most beautiful boating destinations in the country.  The rendezvous is at Fossil Bay on July 12-15.  For more info, visit the website or the Yahoo message board.  Read about our past adventures here and here and here.

Next, we have the annual Pocket Yacht Palooza coming up on July 20-21.  I had Ellie on display last year and it was a lot of fun.  I hope to make it this year as well.

Then, August 5-9 is the Columbia 150ish, a week long raid up and down the Columbia river. Sounds like a blast.  I plan on attending that one as well.

The Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival is September 6-8, but we probably wont be able to make it this year because my daughter is getting married that weekend!!!

Many other local small boating events can be found on the Port Townsend Pocket Yachters calendar of events including SCAMP camps and other building and sailing seminars and messabouts.
